Anambra Security Raids Brothel, Arrests 38, Seizes Drugs and Gun
Anambra State Homeland Security operatives stormed a brothel at Awka’s Okpuno Y-Junction over the weekend. They arrested 38 people, including 20 commercial sex workers, and recovered tramadol, Indian hemp, nitrous oxide, rohypnol and a locally made shotgun. The facility was sealed and handed over to the state under Section 16 of the Anambra Homeland Security Law 2025. During questioning, the manager admitted running an illicit drug ring for a boss who owns another outlet on Abakaliki Street. Community security officials said the raid targeted organized crime, not just commercial sex. They urged residents to stay vigilant and cooperate with authorities to keep Anambra safe.
