US Mother Charged After Alleged Attack on Her Two Young Children

A 35-year-old woman in South Carolina, United States, has been charged with attempted murder after authorities alleged that she attacked her two children, aged six and three, inside their home. Deputies said the children were found after a welfare check, reportedly prompted when the older child called his grandmother to say he was hungry. Both children were taken to hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. Police said the woman was later taken for a mental-health evaluation and allegedly attempted to flee. She was denied bond and faces two counts of attempted murder, as well as a weapon-related charge.
