Lagos Reports Nearly 80% Budget and IGR Performance for 2026
Lagos State says it has achieved about 79–80% budget performance for the 2026 fiscal year, while internally generated revenue performance stood at roughly 80% at the latest half-year review. The Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Ope George, disclosed this at the 2027 Budget Consultative Forum in Ikeja. He said the state has maintained at least 80% budget implementation in recent years, while IGR performance typically reaches 85–90% by year-end. George also put Lagos’ real GDP at about ₦16.2 trillion. The government said its consultations across the state’s five divisions will help residents and stakeholders submit priorities for the 2027 budget. Community representatives welcomed the consultation process, saying many requests from residents are reflected in budget implementation, although not every proposal can be accommodated.
