Outrage Grows Over Delay in Prosecuting Onitsha Child Abuse Suspects
Public anger is growing over the pace of prosecution in an alleged child abuse case involving a couple arrested in Onitsha, Anambra State. Police reportedly arrested the suspects on 10 September after footage alleging the abuse and exploitation of a minor circulated online. The suspects are also alleged to have profited from distributing the material. The Anambra State Police Command says its investigation has been completed and the case sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice and possible charges. Many Nigerians are demanding a prompt, transparent prosecution and protection for the child involved.
