Ogun Approves J4-Gao Road as Deep Sea Port Groundbreaking Is Set for November
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun says the state has approved construction of the J4-Gao Road in Ogun Waterside to improve access to planned industrial and maritime projects in the area. He also said the Federal Government approved a four-kilometre bridge linking the local government to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. The proposed road and bridge are expected to support the Gateway Deep Sea Port and a planned liquefied natural gas project. The governor said the port’s groundbreaking is scheduled for November, with construction expected to begin before year-end and finish by 2030. He projected that the projects could create more than 50,000 direct jobs, alongside opportunities in logistics, construction, hospitality, manufacturing and services. Residents, especially young people in Ogun Waterside, were urged to acquire skills that could help them benefit from the expected investments.
