Bandits Ambush, Kill Two Loggers in Wawa Village, Niger State

On Saturday, June 6, suspected bandits ambushed a group of loggers conveying wood in the bush around Wawa village, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. The attackers opened fire on the vehicle, killing two men—Sidiq Musa and Bashir Bisalla—instantly. A third logger, Mukhtar Zakari, sustained gunshot wounds and is currently receiving treatment in hospital. Angered by the assault, village residents reportedly carried out reprisal attacks on Fulani homes. Several houses and two motorcycles were set ablaze during the unrest.
