Industrial Court Orders Baruwa Faction to Reclaim NURTW Abuja Secretariat

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria in Abuja has directed the Musiliu Akinsanya-led team to vacate the NURTW national secretariat. Justice E. D. Subilim, in Suit No. NICN/ABJ/203/2025 on March 6, 2026, ruled that Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa and his co-claimants take over union affairs immediately. The court also ordered the outgoing executives to hand over all union property, documents and facilities. It barred them from collecting fees or tickets from members and restored control of the Abuja office to the leadership recognised by the judgment.
