Imo Police Arrest Suspect Over Widow’s Death and Missing Toddler

Imo State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged killing of a widowed woman and the disappearance of her 16-month-old daughter. The woman and her child reportedly travelled to visit the suspect on 19 September 2026. Investigators allege that he killed the woman, buried her in a shallow grave within his compound and planned to sell the child. Police said a neighbour raised concerns after noticing suspicious activity. The suspect is also being investigated over an alleged similar case from 2015. Efforts to locate and safely recover the missing toddler are ongoing.
