Netanyahu Says Israel Will Block Armed Groups From Syrian Border
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited military positions on Mount Hermon in Syria and said Israel would not allow any hostile armed group to establish itself near its border. He said Israel intends to retain security control along the Syrian frontier, from Mount Hermon towards the Yarmouk River. Netanyahu was joined by Defence Minister Israel Katz and senior military commanders. Netanyahu also said his government remains focused on confronting Iran and armed groups aligned with Tehran. He gave no details about future operations or how long Israeli forces may remain in Syrian territory.
