Monarch’s Son Reacts as Court Hands Death Sentence to His Father’s Killers
The son of the late Paramount Ruler Chief Robert Namene Loolo of Luuwa community in Rivers State has welcomed a recent court ruling, though he says it cannot undo the tragedy. Chief Loolo was abducted in 2019 and killed despite a ransom payment. His remains were exhumed from a creek in 2021. On May 6, 2026, a court convicted those responsible and sentenced them to death. Barine Eric Loolo shared an emotional message on social media, noting that while the sentence cannot bring back his father, he finds solace in seeing justice served. He thanked God, the prosecution team, and everyone who supported the family during the seven-year ordeal.
