Zamfara Security Forces Repel Kanoma Attack, Kill Six Bandits
Security forces in Zamfara State shot dead six suspected bandits who attacked Kanoma Town and Gidan Daji in Maru Local Government Area. The assault, which began around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, was thwarted by a joint operation of police, military, VCRU operatives and local vigilantes. The attackers arrived with heavy weapons including rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns and AK-47 rifles. Upon receiving a distress call, the security team engaged in a fierce gun battle, forcing the bandits to flee. Six suspects riding two motorcycles were neutralised, while others escaped into nearby forests with gunshot wounds. No lives were lost among residents or security personnel during the operation. Authorities have stepped up patrols to secure the area and urge residents to support security agencies with timely information to prevent further attacks.
