Army Foils Kidnapping Attempts, Rescues 10 Victims in Plateau and Kaduna
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace in Plateau and Kaduna states thwarted multiple abductions and rescued ten kidnapped passengers in coordinated raids over the past 48 hours. In Riyom LGA of Plateau State, soldiers recovered an abandoned Honda on the Hawan Kibo–Rafin Sayin highway and freed six travelers who had been taken hostage. The search continues for their missing driver. In Bokkos LGA, troops intercepted gunmen holding a pastor and his wife, forcing the kidnappers to flee. Both victims, who sustained injuries during the attack, were evacuated to a local clinic for treatment. In Kaduna State’s Sanga LGA, soldiers discovered empty ammunition cases at a blockade on the Rafi Tagwai–Angwan Dariya road. A forest pursuit led to the rescue of two wounded passengers, and operations remain ongoing to recover other hostages. The military reaffirmed its commitment to securing highways and communities within its Joint Operations Area.
