Police Foil Cattle-Rustling Attempt in Katsina, Recover 50 Animals
Police in Katsina State say they foiled a cattle-rustling operation in Kwarara Village, Jibia Local Government Area, after receiving a distress call on September 12. Officers from the Jibia division and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps reportedly tracked the suspects to the Jibia Dam Site, where a gun battle occurred. The suspects fled with gunshot injuries and abandoned the animals. One 22-year-old suspect was arrested. Police recovered 15 cows and 35 sheep, while investigations continue.
