US Firm Questions Authenticity of Letter Said to Clear Tinubu Over FBI Records
A US-based political advisory and lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, has questioned the authenticity of a letter allegedly sent through the US Embassy in Nigeria concerning President Bola Tinubu's US records. The letter was cited by Nigeria's ambassador to Mexico, Reno Omokri, while responding to claims about Tinubu's records with US authorities. The firm said the document contains spelling, grammar and formatting errors that would be unusual in official US government correspondence. It highlighted errors including “czheck” in place of “check”, “maitatins” instead of “maintains”, and incorrect phrasing such as “contact me direct”. The firm said the document should be independently verified before it is treated as authentic. The development comes amid continuing public and legal scrutiny of US federal records linked to Tinubu. The firm added that presenting a fabricated document as an official US government communication, if proven, could have legal consequences.
