Ekiti Court Remands 61-Year-Old Man Over Alleged Attempted Murder
An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court has remanded 61-year-old Cosmos Olufemi over an allegation of attempted murder involving Aderibigbe Olawale. The prosecution said the alleged offence occurred in the Iyin-Ekiti Magisterial District on August 15, 2026, and is punishable under the Ekiti State Criminal Law, 2021. It requested a 30-day remand to allow further investigation while the case file is reviewed by the Director of Public Prosecutions. The defendant’s plea was not taken. The court ordered his remand in a correctional facility and adjourned the matter until September 25, 2026, for mention.
