Kwara Police Uncover 98 Rounds in Garri, Arrest Cultists and Human Parts Trader
Kwara police say operatives from Operation Harmony intercepted a vehicle on April 10 along the Ajase-Ipo Road. A search revealed 98 live rounds concealed in a bag of garri. Three suspects were linked to the arms deal, and one allegedly received ₦1.3 million to procure the ammunition. In a separate raid near Bovas Filling Station, officers arrested two alleged cult members after goods worth about ₦2.5 million were stolen. An empty AK-47 magazine was recovered from their home, and investigations continue to trace other suspects, including a landlord’s son. Collaboration with vigilantes in Ganmo led to the arrest of two men found with a cut-to-size shotgun and a live cartridge. The suspects are accused of terrorising residents. Police also detained a 29-year-old caught with numerous electronics under suspicious circumstances and charged another suspect for attempting to sell a human skull in Kaiama. All cases have been charged to court as the command vows to maintain intelligence-led patrols and public vigilance.
