Rufai Oseni Says Northern Voter Discontent Could Test APC in 2027

Arise Television presenter Rufai Oseni says many voters in Northern Nigeria are dissatisfied with President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He warned that the APC should not mistake public displays of loyalty or financial inducements for guaranteed electoral support. Speaking on The Morning Show on October 19, Oseni said politicians could be surprised by the outcome of the 2027 general elections. He said his view was based on his observations of public sentiment rather than a single survey. Oseni also questioned whether opposition governors who defected from the PDP to the APC would remain fully committed ahead of the election. He suggested that some defections may be driven more by political convenience than ideology.
