Achida Vigilantes Foil Bandit Raid, Neutralise One Attacker

Residents of Achida community in Sokoto State joined local vigilante groups to confront armed bandits who stormed the village. Security and community sources say the mobilised residents engaged the attackers directly under torchlight. After a brief but fierce exchange, the assailants retreated, leaving one suspected bandit neutralised and others fleeing with possible injuries. Locals praised the quick coordination and bravery of the defence group. State security authorities have vowed to step up patrols and launch follow-up operations to track down fleeing suspects and prevent further incidents.
