Osogbo Customers Seek Refunds After Discount Food Seller Halts Operations

Customers in Osogbo, Osun State, are seeking refunds after a food seller reportedly stopped operating before fulfilling prepaid orders for rice, cooking oil, spaghetti and semovita. The business allegedly offered goods far below prevailing market prices and asked buyers to pay in advance, with collection scheduled about seven days later. Some early customers reportedly received their items, encouraging more residents to place orders. On Monday, customers said they arrived at the Odi-Olowo premises to find it empty. Police officers were reportedly deployed as residents demanded answers and called for an investigation. The number of people affected and the amount involved have not been independently confirmed. The company has not issued a public explanation, while the police and state government had not commented at the time of reporting.
