Bayelsa Governor Presents ₦1.24 Trillion 2027 Budget

The Bayelsa State Governor has presented a ₦1.24 trillion appropriation bill to the State House of Assembly for consideration. The proposal is 22 per cent higher than the 2026 budget and is titled “Budget of Assured Prosperity for Sustainable Growth and Development.” The budget allocates ₦840.79 billion, or 68 per cent, to capital expenditure and ₦401.90 billion, or 32 per cent, to recurrent spending. Its priorities include roads and bridges, education, healthcare, electricity, agriculture and security. The governor said the plan would support ongoing projects and create more opportunities as Bayelsa enters its fourth decade. He also inspected the ongoing construction of the new State House of Assembly complex.
