Dele Momodu Says Tinubu Must Be Confronted After Court Ruling Nullifies ADC Leadership
ADC chieftain Dele Momodu says President Bola Tinubu should be confronted rather than appealed to after a Federal High Court ruling nullified the party’s leadership structure and decisions made under it. The ruling also invalidated the party’s presidential primary that produced Atiku Abubakar as its candidate and directed INEC not to recognise decisions from the disputed meeting. Momodu was responding to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s appeal for the Tinubu administration to protect democratic institutions. He alleged that people around the President were encouraging actions that could weaken opposition parties and warned that the situation could lead to a serious political crisis. The case was brought by former ADC deputy national chairman Nafiu Bala Gombe, who challenged the emergence of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as party leaders. Atiku has said he will appeal the judgment, while the Presidency has denied involvement in the legal action.
