Why I Think Paid Companionship Costs Less Than Marriage
I believe paying for companionship is cheaper and less stressful than the financial and emotional commitments of a relationship or marriage. I spend about $1,500 monthly and feel it has improved my focus, energy and mood. In my view, it also reduces the time I once spent worrying about dating. Marriage and committed relationships can involve major costs, including weddings, rings, rent, gifts, trips and ongoing expectations. I think men should be more open to discussing whether those commitments are worth it.
