Enugu Police Probe Alleged Shooting at NDC Secretariat, Airport Clash

Enugu State Police Command has ordered an investigation into an alleged shooting near the Nigeria Democratic Congress secretariat in Enugu. Police said the incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. A man repairing a vehicle reportedly sustained a suspected gunshot injury, while the windscreens of five parked vehicles were damaged. He was taken to hospital and is said to be in stable condition. In a separate incident, police and military personnel dispersed NDC members gathered at Akanu Ibiam International Airport to receive the party’s governorship candidate. Authorities said a disagreement among the members reportedly led to a fight after airport officials restricted large groups from entering the facility. The police command urged political parties to avoid violence and notify officers ahead of planned activities so security can be arranged.
