Senator Shehu Buba Offers Himself for DSS, Police Investigation Over Terrorism Claims
Senator Shehu Buba Umar, who represents Bauchi South, says he has voluntarily submitted himself to the DSS, Nigeria Police Force and Defence Intelligence Agency for investigation over allegations of terrorism financing, kidnapping and other violent crimes. Speaking in Bauchi on September 14, 2026, Buba denied wrongdoing and said he was ready to cooperate fully with investigators. He said the allegations should be examined professionally rather than debated politically. The senator said activities connected to his previous security-related work in the National Assembly had been misrepresented as links to criminal groups. He added that he had previously filed a police petition and pursued legal action over publications containing the allegations. Buba said he would accept the outcome of any credible investigation based on facts and evidence.
