Celine Dion has resumed live performances after more than six years away from the stage due to stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that causes severe muscle stiffness and spasms. The Canadian singer returned on September 12 at the Plénitude Arena in Nanterre, France, performing for about 30,000 fans. Her set included “My Heart Will Go On” and “All By Myself” as she began her Paris residency. Dion became emotional as she thanked fans for their patience and support. She has undergone medication, physical therapy and vocal training as part of her recovery. Recent appearances in Paris have also shown her in high spirits, including a spontaneous singalong with fans outside her hotel.
