Police in Ondo State say they uncovered a suspected counterfeit-dollar operation in Kiniso Village, Odigbo LGA. Officers arrested one suspect and recovered three bags of counterfeit notes and equipment allegedly used to print them. The raid followed a complaint from a currency dealer in Sabo, Okitipupa, who alleged that ₦8.6 million was involved in a deal to exchange 6,000 genuine US dollars for fake notes. Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh said the arrested suspect was assisting investigators. Police are searching for other suspects who allegedly fled and urged residents to avoid unverified foreign-exchange dealers and report suspicious transactions.
