Gunmen Kill Three Community Vigilantes in Fresh Plateau Attack
Gunmen have killed three young men in Gwa Rim community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack reportedly occurred around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The victims, said to be members of a local vigilante group, were on watch duty at a community guard post when the gunmen opened fire. A resident said the incident has heightened fears among locals, who are calling for stronger security in Gwa Rim and other vulnerable communities in Riyom. Residents also urged security agencies to investigate the attack and bring those responsible to justice.
