Katsina Judge Escapes Through Window as Gunmen Raid Shari’ah Court

A Shari’ah court judge, Mohammed Muktar, reportedly escaped through a window after suspected bandits invaded a courtroom in Gwarjo village, Matazu LGA of Katsina State on Wednesday. Witnesses said the gunmen stormed the premises around midday, fired shots and demanded to know where the judge was. Muktar allegedly spotted them approaching and fled on a commercial motorcycle before they reached the courtroom. Residents said the attackers threatened to kill the judge if he returned to preside over cases in the community. The incident has heightened fears in Gwarjo, where residents have faced repeated bandit attacks. Police had not commented at the time of the report.
