Three Arrested Over Killing of Niger Woman Accused of Witchcraft
The Niger State Police Command has arrested three people over the alleged killing of 65-year-old Tani Nuhu in Kokolo village, Auna District. Police said she was accused of witchcraft. One suspect, Mohammed Sani, is accused of entering Nuhu's home and killing her on October 3. Police also said another elderly woman was seriously injured in the attack. Investigators allege that Sani was recruited by Isa Lamaran, Abdullahi Hamidu and a fourth suspect, Rufa'i Gado, who remains at large, to target three elderly women. The suspects are being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna and are expected to face charges after further investigation.
