Vera Sado Sworn In as Etsako Central’s First Female Council Chair
Hon. Vera Sado has been sworn in as the first elected female chairperson of Etsako Central Local Government Area in Edo State. Sado, who won the July 12, 2026 chairmanship election on the APC platform, is also the first person from the Anegbette/South Uneme axis to lead the council since its creation. She was the only woman among the 18 newly inaugurated local government chairpersons. Governor Monday Okpebholo performed the swearing-in at Government House in Benin and urged the new chairpersons to prioritise grassroots development, accountability and effective use of public funds. Sado thanked residents for their support and promised improved development across Etsako Central.
