Anambra Police Arrest Couple and Teen Over Brutal Abuse of 10-Year-Old Boy

Men of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested Chukwudi and Chisom Chukwuyere alongside a 16-year-old, Arum Goodluck, over the severe physical abuse of a 10-year-old boy in Odume Layout, Isiowulu. The arrests followed widespread outrage on June 14, when a video surfaced showing the victim’s injuries and neighbours rescuing him from the alleged perpetrators. Police say Mrs. Chisom admitted to melting plastic on the boy’s skin, inflicting painful burns. The child is now under protective custody and receiving medical treatment and psychosocial support. Investigators are compiling evidence to ensure the suspects face prosecution.
