Niger Police Arrest Woman Accused of Poisoning Co-wife’s Children; One Dies

Police in Niger State have arrested Mariya Abdullahi over the suspected poisoning of her co-wife’s two children in Takuti, Lapai Local Government Area. The incident was reported on November 6, 2026. The children, aged four and nine, reportedly drank a substance suspected to be poison. One died after being taken to a clinic, while the other was referred to a general hospital and is receiving treatment.
