Whistleblower Alleges Lagos Police Detained Him Over Reports on Tinubu-Linked Alpha-Beta

A former Alpha-Beta Consulting employee and whistleblower, Segun Oluwasanmi, has alleged that Lagos police officers worked with company officials to intimidate and criminalise him over corruption and tax-evasion claims he raised against the firm. According to sources, Oluwasanmi was invited to the State Intelligence Department in Ikeja on January 14, 2026, supposedly for a meeting with Alpha-Beta management. He was later questioned about social-media posts sharing reports on the company and was allegedly pressured to make statements without access to legal representation. He was reportedly detained for about 42 hours before being charged over posts said to be capable of provoking a breach of public peace. Sources argue that the legal provisions cited on the charge sheet do not apply to sharing news reports. The report also states that Oluwasanmi had been cleared of similar allegations in November 2025 and had left the company before the anonymous staff emails at the centre of Alpha-Beta’s earlier petition were sent.
