Troops of Operation HADIN KAI launched an early-morning ambush on April 30 in the Charlie Five area near the Sambisa Forest in Borno State. Working with local vigilante units, the 21 Special Armoured Brigade engaged a group of suspected insurgents moving from Yale towards the forest. Four terrorists were killed, and troops seized an AK-47 rifle with 12 rounds of ammunition, along with food supplies. The ambush team returned to base without casualties.
