FG Steps Up MDA Performance Monitoring, Says Non-Performance Will Not Be Tolerated

The Federal Government says it is strengthening accountability and performance monitoring across Ministries, Departments and Agencies, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive that non-performance will not be tolerated. At a high-level engagement on data collection and harmonisation, the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council presented findings from its Business Environment Enhancement Programme Accelerator. The assessment found that 16 MDAs had fully implemented the reforms assessed. However, mystery-shopping exercises recorded a drop in agency responsiveness after active monitoring ended. PEBEC says it will continue using live performance tracking, compliance assessments and mystery shopping to identify service-delivery gaps and hold agencies accountable.
