NHRC Records 122 Domestic Violence Cases in Kwara in 10 Months
The National Human Rights Commission in Kwara says it received 122 reports of domestic violence between January and October 2026. The commission said complaints came from both women and men, with women making more reports. The cases included physical assault, emotional abuse, sexual violence and economic abuse. The commission urged victims to report abuse and seek help. It said the state’s Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law provides penalties for offenders and allows authorities to pursue cases, including through referrals and pro bono legal support.
