Police Rescue Four Abducted Residents in Nasarawa’s Akwanga LGA

On Tuesday night, police operatives in Andaha Division of Akwanga LGA, Nasarawa State, thwarted an abduction attempt against four community residents along the Akwanga–Jos Road. Responding to a distress call at around 9:40 p.m., a tactical team led by the Divisional Police Officer engaged armed suspects near Megona Filling Station. The hoodlums opened fire but fled into the bush after a brief gun duel, abandoning the victims unharmed. Security agents recovered stolen provisions and launched a joint manhunt with military forces, local vigilantes, and hunters. The Commissioner of Police commended the swift response and urged the public to remain vigilant and share credible information to support ongoing operations.
