Atiku Questions Security Deployment for Tinubu Campaign Billboards in Kaduna
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has criticised the reported deployment of security personnel to protect President Bola Tinubu’s campaign billboards in Kaduna State. Atiku said the Federal Government should show the same urgency in protecting citizens facing banditry, terrorism and kidnappings. He questioned why campaign materials required protection while many communities continued to experience insecurity. Reports said personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kaduna traffic officials and other operatives were assigned to guard billboards at key locations in Kaduna metropolis ahead of the APC campaign flag-off. The assignment was reportedly intended to prevent vandalism, especially at night. The Presidency had not issued a response in the reports reviewed.
