Benue: Alia Urges DSS to Deepen Probe as Three Suspects Are Arrested Over Ayilamo Attack
Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has urged the Department of State Services to intensify its investigation after three suspects were arrested over the attack on Ayilamo community in Logo Local Government Area. The attack reportedly killed four police officers and seven other people. Alia praised DSS personnel in Benue and Nasarawa states for the operation, saying every lead should be pursued to identify and arrest other suspects, sponsors and collaborators. The governor described the killings as a grave threat to peace and security in Benue. He offered condolences to the victims’ families and the Ayilamo community, while assuring residents that the state would work with security agencies to protect vulnerable communities and prevent further attacks. He also appealed to residents to remain calm, stay vigilant and provide credible information that could support the ongoing investigation.
