Jay-Z Seeks Revival of Extortion Suit Against Attorney Tony Buzbee

The rapper, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, argues that new statements from Buzbee’s former client should allow the case to proceed. The woman has withdrawn her allegation that Carter sexually assaulted her and said she had never met him. Her attorney said she still maintains that she was sexually assaulted, but that Carter was wrongly identified. Carter alleges that Buzbee sought dismissal of the original case to avoid possible sanctions. The appeals court has not yet ruled on the latest request, and the allegations against Buzbee have not been proven in court.
