2027 Projection Gives Tinubu 20 States, Atiku Nine and Obi Eight

A new assessment by a political intelligence group projects President Bola Tinubu to win 20 states if the 2027 presidential election were held under current conditions. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is projected to win nine states, while Peter Obi is placed in eight states, including the FCT. The assessment is a snapshot of today’s political landscape, not a final election prediction. Tinubu’s projected advantage is linked to the South-West and a possible northern foothold in Kano, while Atiku is expected to retain support in parts of the North. Obi is projected to hold key territories where he performed strongly in 2023. Economic hardship, inflation, jobs, security and the cost of living could shape voter decisions ahead of 2027. Possible opposition alliances, defections, party primaries and the eventual choice of running mates could also substantially change the race.
