Nigerian Youths Need Empathy, Opportunity and a Fairer System

Many Nigerian youths who are trying to earn an honest living face difficult choices every day. Before judging them, we should understand the pressure of unemployment, rising living costs and limited opportunities. Nigeria continues to produce thousands of university graduates, yet there are not enough industries and jobs to absorb them. Education is not a scam. It can still create a better future, but the system must allow education, skills and hard work to lead to decent livelihoods. Those who speak up for youth development may face resistance, but advocacy remains important. A fairer society requires leaders and citizens to create opportunities, support learning and reduce the conditions that push young people towards desperation.
