Nigeria Police Honors Retired IGP Kayode Egbetokun with Pull-Out Parade
On 12 March 2026, the Nigeria Police Force held a ceremonial pull-out parade at its Abuja headquarters to honour the immediate past Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM. IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu praised Egbetokun’s 36 years of service. In his farewell address, Dr. Egbetokun thanked colleagues and reflected on key initiatives launched during his tenure. These included the upgrade of the Intelligence Bureau, new directorates for legal and medical services, the Nigeria Police Cybercrime Centre, and expanded mobile force units. The event was attended by top government and security officials, former IGPs, heads of sister agencies, and traditional rulers. It marked the formal conclusion of Dr. Egbetokun’s distinguished policing career.
