World Bank Raises Nigeria’s 2026 Growth Forecast to 4.3%
The World Bank projects that Nigeria’s economy will grow by 4.3% in 2026, up from an estimated 4.0% in 2025. It expects growth to reach 4.4% in both 2027 and 2028, citing economic reforms and improved management. The projection follows data from the National Bureau of Statistics showing that Nigeria’s economy expanded by 4.43% in the second quarter of 2026. The World Bank also raised its outlook for Zambia, Ethiopia and Angola. Other developments include an update from the Nigerian Air Force that 25 people were aboard the aircraft that crashed in Ondo State, with no survivors found. Four state assemblies have also approved the proposed state police constitutional amendment, while communities affected by an oil spill in Delta have risen from 86 to 216.
