Wike Expects Political Payback From Atiku and Obi, Says Aide
Lere Olayinka, spokesman for FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, says Wike understands that his political fallout with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party figure Peter Obi could bring consequences. Speaking on a television programme on September 4, Olayinka said Wike does not expect either man to become his ally if they win the 2027 presidential election. He said political disagreements often lead to retaliation. The comments follow Wike’s earlier concern that Atiku and Obi could move against him politically if President Bola Tinubu loses the 2027 election.
