IDF Says Hezbollah’s Ali Taher Ridge Tunnel Facility Has Been Cleared for Demolition

The Israeli military says it has cleared Hezbollah operatives from an underground facility beneath the Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon and is preparing to demolish the site. According to the IDF, troops cleared two tunnel routes after taking operational control of the ridge. The military says some operatives were killed while others fled. It says the tunnels contained command centres, weapons rooms, generators, living quarters, showers and a kitchen. The IDF says the facility, which it alleges was planned and financed by Iran, had been used to launch attacks against Israel. It also disputed a Reuters report that Iranian Revolutionary Guard officers were inside the tunnels when Israeli forces captured the site. The military says it will adopt a new defensive posture after the demolition, suggesting a possible withdrawal from the area.
