Peter Obi: "An Altruistic Leader and My Archetypal Candidate" but Only Testing His Popularity ~ Prince Victor
JULY 29, 2022. 3 Mins Read. By Douglas Olamide: A member of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Comr. Prince Victor, has spoken on the possibility of Labour Party presidential candidate in winning the 2023 elections. In a statement made available to NaijaWorld, Victor expressed satisfaction at Obi's credibility but stressed that he is only testing his popularity, he said; "It is worthwhile we set records straight and not hide anything anymore. The presidential candidate of Labour Party, His Excellency Dr. Peter Obi CON is a quintessence of altruistic leadership and to many Nigerians including myself, he is a lollapalooza and a humongous representation of good politicking. I don't need to say much because his antecedents are there to exonerate him. The former publicity secretary of Lagos rescue mission, stressed that he don't believe in party politics or ethnocentric jingoism but a vehement believer of Meritocracy and that is why he beg to differ in popular misconceptions that Obi will win 2023 presidential election. Peter Obi is my archetypal candidate to spearhead the helms of affairs of this nation and that was why I supported him in 2019 as the vice presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party but one thing that can't be taken out of context is that Obi isn't competing in this race to win the election, he is only testing his popularity among the people and it is very visible with the cruise on the media. Right now, the man to beat in the election is our former vice president and presidential candidate of People Democratic Party, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON, he is from a major party that have units up to local government levels, they have strong grassroot politicians and they have the financial wherewithal. Prince said, Labour Party has no incumbent governor, no senator, no member in the house,. How do you win a presidential election without top men telling their supporters to vote for you? Yes the youth and poor masses love Obi and want him to be there. You see politics in these part of the world is all about money and Obi is not ready to dish out dollars, people are hungry. If women can sleep with men they don't love for 2k, and a man will kidnap a child for 10k, you should know the level of hunger in the land. For as little as 1k many people will sell their votes. If delegates can sell their votes, imagine someone looking for his/her next meal? And we talk about the increase in PVC registration, many people who are shouting Obidient today on media space may not even collect their card before election day and if they mange to get it, possibilities are there that they may not come out to vote and even if they come out, there are chances that they will sell their votes, there's hunger in the land and except we want to play to the gallery, we all are aware that Nigerians are looking after the next meal. According to the founder and lead representative of VLink Telecoms Services, all these and others are things to be considered for checks and balances, then you will arrive to my status quo that except for a miracle, Obi can't win 2023 election but only testing his popularity, but we will always encourage and advice him to try again in 2027 when it is even more realistic that he is sure to win. The youths are keenly focused on Atiku because that's where lies the crux of politicking in the build up of 2023 and his vast experience, antecedents, precedence are all there in the full glare of the public to access. Obi is aware and believes in Atiku's leadership prowess and abilities of governance and that was why you saw him in 2019 accepting to deputise Atiku in the presidential elections, so what else are we discussing? He said, we talk about the ruling party candidate, he is a pushover and we have already seen all their deceits so he has nothing to offer Nigerians and the Apc will be thrashed in the dustbin of history comes 2023. If you ask me, I will tell you freely that the Nigeria populace have chosen Atiku of the PDP to saddle the affairs of the nation, it is the people's project and that is why we are returning power to the people".
