APC Governors Reject Wike’s Proposed Rainbow Coalition in Rivers
The Progressive Governors Forum has rejected FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s proposed Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general election. The arrangement would involve APC and PDP members working together in the state, where Wike remains a PDP member with close ties to the APC. After a closed-door meeting in Abuja on September 14, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma said APC governors would not endorse any alliance that could weaken the party or its candidates. The forum said its members would campaign only for APC candidates at every level and would reject arrangements that create divided loyalties or conflicting interests within the party.
