Ex-US Mayor Labels Obi-Kwankwaso Ticket a ‘National Disaster’

Ex-US Mayor Labels Obi-Kwankwaso Ticket a ‘National Disaster’

A former US mayor has rejected a proposed presidential ticket between Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, warning it would be a “national disaster.” He accused Kwankwaso of links to extremist networks, strict Sharia enforcement policies and years of shifting parties while remaining loyal to traditional powers in Sokoto. The former mayor also raised questions about Kwankwaso’s tenure as Defence Minister during the post-9/11 war on terror, citing mysterious military and royal plane crashes in 2006. He pointed to allegations of pension fund mismanagement and interference in corruption probes, and pledged to oppose any ticket featuring Kwankwaso, urging Obi to choose a different running mate.
