MBF Says Survivors Are Ready to Testify Against El-Rufai Over Kaduna Killings Allegations
The Middle Belt Forum says it is prepared to mobilise survivors of violence in Kaduna State to testify if allegations against former governor Nasir El-Rufai reach court. Speaking on a television programme, the forum's spokesperson, Luka Biniyat, alleged that El-Rufai's actions, inactions and public comments contributed to killings affecting communities in Southern Kaduna, Shiite Muslims and other groups during his eight-year administration. Biniyat said the forum would reserve its evidence and witnesses for a court of competent jurisdiction rather than present them in the media. He also rejected claims that recent criticism of El-Rufai by defence officials amounts to political victimisation, and called for the allegations to be thoroughly investigated.
